This will distribute heat into your hair evenly so you don't need to go over a strand multiple times, creating more damage. If you plan to add some heat to your hair, remember to use a heat protectant beforehand. 

Use the right products for your hair type 

When buying hair products, choose products specifically for your hair type, whether that's dry, normal, or oily. Also, if you have chemically treated hair (such as bleaching, straightening, or a perm) then you should use shampoos and conditioners that are designed for chemically treated hair. 

Eat a healthy diet
